American Red Cross Platelet Donor Scheduler in Fullerton, California

Job Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer-service focused individual to interact with our life saving donors at our Fullerton donor center. This is a full time position with a schedule that requires evening and weekend availability.

Greet Donors as they walk in the Donor site and help them get checked into the system.Re-schedule appointments for donors that are donating at the fixed site location.Recruit Whole Blood Donors to Platelets or Plasma donations.Call no-show donors to see if they need to reschedule their appointments.Coordinate reminder calls, follow-ups, log-in of data and maintenance of recordsInteract in a positive, proactive, and customer-focused manner with both internal and external customers, demonstrating care and compassion at all times.Contact active or former blood donors to increase both the frequency of their donations and the number of donors at the Fixed Donor site , to meet our collection goals.

Essential Functions/Physical Requirements:The duties are representative of the essential functions of the position. Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Extensive use of telephone and moderate use of computer required.

Exposure levels are based on the essential functions as stated in this position description; however, in some instances, variances may occur due to the applicable nature of this position within a particular work site. Therefore the work site may determine the exposure level to be greater than or less than the below stated level.

This position is an exposure determination 0 in view of the fact that normal work involves no exposure to blood or blood components and/or human body fluids or tissue samples as a result of splashes, spills, and/or needle sticks or performance of or assistance in first aid.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum one year of customer service experience is required. Computer experience, excellent customer service and problem-solving skills required. Effective verbal communication skills, the ability to work with potentially difficult customers, and work in a fast paced environment is required.
