American Red Cross Maintenance Center Operations Supervisor in Douglasville, Georgia
The American Red Cross is in search of a Maintenance Center Operations Specialist. The Maintenance Center Ops Specialist will be responsible for management and oversight of maintenance center operations located in Douglasville, GA and nearby facilities where Disaster Technology hardware is stored, deployed from or returned to. Some engineering and/or analytical activities associated with one or more technical areas within the Disaster Technology function (such as but not limited to, design, engineering, implementation, or operations/user support).
Evaluate, design and maintain existing or proposed operational systems.
Analyze the needs of the users and recommends solutions to the hardware and/or other systems.
Prepare detailed specifications and flowcharts for implementation of new internal programs or modifications to vendor relationships, etc.
Supervise and monitor the operation of systems, processes and services of vendors.
Prepare metrics, activity and progress reports regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
Provide direct, day to day supervision of Disaster Technology staff and volunteers on site.
Oversee recruitment, training and utilization of volunteers on and off-site assisting with maintenance center efforts.
Work with other POCs in Disaster Technology and HIT in general to optimize operations and support to DSC.
Education: 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: Minimum 5 to 7 years required
Management Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of staff management required
Essential Functions/Physical Requirements: Depending on work assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle and working under challenging conditions.
Work Conditions: Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to emergency services relief work. May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout
chapter jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system. Because the Red Cross is a disaster response
organization, staff may be asked to be on 24-hour call during period of major disaster.
